KAKAF is the alias of Cláudio Alexandre, a young, Lisbon-based DJ and producer whose first steps behind the decks happened at the tender age of 12, in the Summer venue Clube Da Praia in Zambujeira do Mar, warming up for well-known local DJs. Cramming together techno, house, electro, breakbeat and hip hop records, he was able to develop a style of his own that he’s been showcasing every month on his radio residency for Lisbon’s own Rádio Quântica.

Born in a musical household, son to a fado singer and a Mozambican musician, Cláudio quickly felt drawn to a mix of different sounds and inspirations that would later inform his creative output. At the age of 16, KAKAF started to make his own productions, strongly influenced by a myriad styles of house and techno and displaying a very natural knack for dramatic, emotional but elegante dancefloor gems. That’s exactly what’s in store for his debut on Alphabet Street: late night dancefloor drama full of black soul and irresistible pull.
